Pressure?
what exactly is pressure? can someone tell me bout it? what about the drinking straw, spray, and all things associated with air pressure? i think how we actually apply pressure in our lives? p / s: sorry. too many questions ..
Pressure (symbol: 'p') is the force over a Surface applied to an object in a direction perpendicular to the surface. Overpressure is the pressure, based on the local atmospheric or ambient pressure. Pressure is an effect occurs when a force exerted based on a surface. The symbol of the pressure that can be written as p P. The SI unit for pressure is the Pascal (Pa) equal to one newton per square meter (N m-2 or kg × m-1 · s-2). This special name for the unit was in 1971, which was hitherto pressure in the SI simply N/m2 expressed. Non-SI measures such as pounds per square inch (psi) and bar are to be used in parts of the world. The CGS unit of pressure is the barye (BA), in the amount of 1 dyn / cm-2. The pressure is sometimes expressed in grams-force/cm2, or as kg/cm2, and the like without properly identifying the force units. But with the name of kilograms, grams, Kilogram-force or gram-force (or their symbols) as units of force is expressly forbidden in SI. The technical atmosphere (symbol: at) is 1 kgf/cm2. In U.S. customary Units, it is 14.696 psi. Some meteorologists prefer the hectopascals (hPa) for atmospheric pressure equal to the older unit millibar (mbar). Similar Pressure in kilopascals (kPa) in most other areas, where the hecto prefix is rarely used, explained. The unit mm of mercury (inHg, see below) still be in the United States. Oceanographers usually measure underwater pressure in decibars (dbar) because an increase in the pressure of 1 dbar is approximately equal to an increase at a depth of 1 meter. Scuba divers often a manometric rule of thumb: the pressure exercised by ten meters water depth is approximately equal to one atmosphere. The standard atmosphere (atm) is an established constant. It is roughly the same meaning to typical air pressure at the earth, the sea level and is defined as: standard atmosphere = 101325 Pa = 101.325 kPa = 1013.25 hPa, since pressure is generally due to its ability to displace a column of fluid measured in a pressure gauge, pressure often to a depth expressed by a particular fluid (eg inches of water). The most common choices are mercury (Hg) and water, water is nontoxic and easily accessible, while the mercury at high density allows for a shorter column (and thus a smaller manometer) to measure a given pressure. The pressure that a liquid column of height h and density ρ is exercised given by the hydrostatic pressure equation p = ρgh. Fluid density and local gravity may, after a reading to another depending local conditions, so that the height of a liquid column does not precisely define pressure. When millimeters of mercury or inches of mercury are quoted today are these units are not on a physical basis of mercury, but they have been given precise definitions that can be expressed in terms of SI units. The water-based devices still depends on the density of water, measured as defined in the crowd. These manometric units are still found in many areas. Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury in the majority of the world, and lung pressures in centimeters of water are still common. Currently are or have been, the pressure of population units are the following: atmospheric manometric units: centimeters, inches and millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) millimeters, centimeters, Feet, inches and feet of water imperial units: KIP, force ton-force (short), ton-force (long), Pound, Ounce Force, and poundal pound-force per square inch, ton-force (short) and ton-force (long) non-SI metric units: bar, decibar, millibar kg Force or newtons per square centimeter (technical atmosphere) g-force and tonne-force (metric ton-force) barye per square centimeter (dynes per square centimeter) sthene kg-force and tonne-force per square meter per square meter (Pièze) For more information, you can go to # Units / Http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pressure http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pressure Hope I helped.
